Spell / Meditation for release from addiction.

A friend of mine needed some help and encouragement to quit smoking cigarettes, so I wrote her this spell.

It can be used for any addiction and bad habits that are damaging you.

———

You will need:

  • a black candle
(protection, ending, banishment, binding, protection, a new start.)
  • a white candle
(cleansing, healing, peace, clarity, ecstasy, self-love, higher self)
  • piece of paper, torn in two
  • writing utensils
  • a small lock of your hair
  • a flame-proof dish
  • a small, white pouch with black string
  • you can also add these things to adorn your altar:
acorns, cinnamon bark, rosemary sprigs, rose thorns, pine-needles, amethyst, crystal quartz, Apache’s tears, personal charms and trinkets, etc…

Arrange your altar in a way that pleases you and light the candles.

Write down all the negative things about your addiction/bad habit on your piece of paper.

Stare into the black candle, reflect on your abuse / habit and how it has affected your life negatively. Think of your wish to be free.

Close your eyes and imagine this ashy cloud of negativity along with it’s toxicity flowing along your veins and gather in your hands.

Pass it onto the paper and say tell yourself that its not welcome in your life anymore. Drip black candle-wax on the paper and fold it 3 times.
Then let it catch on fire and burn in the dish.

Write down the positive sides to quitting your bad habit on the other piece of paper.

Stare into the flame of the white candle and reflect upon what you just wrote down.

Observe the flame’s brightness and warmth, visualize it being absorbed by your body.
Imagine the feeling of wellness, freedom and joy while your body is aglow.
Promise yourself that you will love yourself from now on and that this flame within shall keep burning.

Place your lock of hair on the paper and “glue” them together with the white candle-wax and fold it 3 times while chanting:
“My promise is made, my promise is sealed.”

Place your folded paper in the pouch and close it. Snuff the candles and say:
“Let it be.”

Hang the pouch over a central doorway in your household, as a reminder and save the white candle nearby.

———

When your craving is taking over or you feel like your willpower is weakening, light the candle and meditate in front of it.
Recall the bright, warm feeling of the flame and let it set you alight with self-love once again.
Chant “My promise is made, my promise is sealed” until the craving subsides.

To banish unwanted persons

To Banish Unwanted Persons

To banish someone from your life, you will need their picture, a black candle and the *Separation Powder.

Take the photo and, in black ink, write your name over the entire photo, over and over, line after line.  As you do so, say over and over, “Leave me alone.”  This exerts your control over them.

Spread the Separation Powder over the image.

Light the candle and let the wax drip over the image, bonding the powder to the image.  As you do so, say:

I banish you (Name)!

I banish you from my life and from my thoughts!

Go away and leave me alone forever!

Let the wax cool and store in a lunch bag or other container to keep it safe.  This newly created talisman will protect you from them as long as it’s intact and in your possession.

*Separation Powder

Cloves

Black pepper

½ cup dirt

Crush all into powder.

Invocation of Artemis/Selene/Hekate

This is a POWERFUL invocation and should be used only by those who can handle it. And it is recommended that protection charms and offerings are used.

O three-faced Selene, come to me beloved mistress
Graciously hear my sacred spells;
Image of Night, Youthful One,
Dawn-born, light-bringer to mortals
Who rides upon fierce-eyed bulls.
O Queen, you who drive your chariot
On equal course with Helios,
You dance with the triple forms of the triple Graces
As you revel with the stars.
You are Justice and the thread of the Fates,
Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos,
O Three-headed One you are
Persephone, Megaira and Allecto
O One of many shapes who arm your hands
With terrible dark-glowing lamps,
Who shakes locks of fearsome serpents at your brow,
Whose mouths send forth the roar of bulls,
Whose womb is thick with reptile scales,
At whose shoulders are rows of venomous serpents,
Bound across your back beneath murderous chains.
O Night-bellower, Lover of solitude,
Bull-faced and Bull-headed One
You have the eyes of bulls and the voice of dogs.
Your forms are hidden in the legs of lions.
Your ankle is wolf-shaped,
and savage dogs are friendly to you,
Wherefore they call you Hekate, Many-named, Mene,
Cleaving the air like arrow-shooting Artemis,
O Goddess of Four faces, Four names, Four ways,
Artemis, Persephone, Deer-shooter, Night-shiner,
Thrice-resounding, Triple voiced, Three-headed, Thrice-named Selene
O Trident-bearing One of Three faces,
Three necks, Three Ways,
Who holds undying flaming fire in triple baskets.
You frequent the Three Ways
and are Mistress of the Three Decads.
Be gracious unto me who is invoking you
and hearken favourably.
You encompass the vast world at night,
You make the Daemones shudder
and the Immortals tremble,
O Many-named Goddess who brings glory to men,
Whose children are fair, O Bull-eyed One, Horned One,
Nature, All-mother, who brings forth both Gods and men,
You roam around Olympus and traverse
the wide and fathomless Abyss,
You are the Beginning and End,
and you alone are Mistress of All:
For from you are All things, and in you,
Eternal One, do All things end.
You bear at your brow an everlasting diadem,
The unbreakable and irremovable bonds of great Cronos,
And you hold in your hands a golden sceptre
Which is encircled by a formula
inscribed by Cronos himself
Who gave it to you to bear in
order that all things remain steadfast:
‘Overpowerer and Overpowered One
Conqueror of men and Damnodamia,’
You rule Chaos, Araracharara ephthisikere,
Hail Goddess and attend your epithets,
I offer you this incense Child of Zeus
Arrow-shooter, Heavenly One, Goddess of Harbours,
Mountain-roamer, Goddess of Crossroads,
Nocturnal One of the Underworld, Shadowy One of Hades,
Still One who frightens, having a feast among the graves.
You are Night, Darkness and broad Chaos,
For you are Necessity hard to escape
You are Fate, you are Erinys and the Torture,
You are the Murderess and Justice
You hold Cerberus in Chains,
You are steely-blue with serpent-scales,
O serpent-haired and Serpent-girdled One,
Blood-drinker, Death-bringer who breeds corruption,
Feaster on hearts,
Flesh-eater who devours those who died before their time,
Grave-resounder,
Driver to the Wanderings of Madness,
Come to my sacrifices and fulfill this task for me.
