Spell / Meditation for release from addiction.

A friend of mine needed some help and encouragement to quit smoking cigarettes, so I wrote her this spell.

It can be used for any addiction and bad habits that are damaging you.

———

You will need:

  • a black candle
(protection, ending, banishment, binding, protection, a new start.)
  • a white candle
(cleansing, healing, peace, clarity, ecstasy, self-love, higher self)
  • piece of paper, torn in two
  • writing utensils
  • a small lock of your hair
  • a flame-proof dish
  • a small, white pouch with black string
  • you can also add these things to adorn your altar:
acorns, cinnamon bark, rosemary sprigs, rose thorns, pine-needles, amethyst, crystal quartz, Apache’s tears, personal charms and trinkets, etc…

Arrange your altar in a way that pleases you and light the candles.

Write down all the negative things about your addiction/bad habit on your piece of paper.

Stare into the black candle, reflect on your abuse / habit and how it has affected your life negatively. Think of your wish to be free.

Close your eyes and imagine this ashy cloud of negativity along with it’s toxicity flowing along your veins and gather in your hands.

Pass it onto the paper and say tell yourself that its not welcome in your life anymore. Drip black candle-wax on the paper and fold it 3 times.
Then let it catch on fire and burn in the dish.

Write down the positive sides to quitting your bad habit on the other piece of paper.

Stare into the flame of the white candle and reflect upon what you just wrote down.

Observe the flame’s brightness and warmth, visualize it being absorbed by your body.
Imagine the feeling of wellness, freedom and joy while your body is aglow.
Promise yourself that you will love yourself from now on and that this flame within shall keep burning.

Place your lock of hair on the paper and “glue” them together with the white candle-wax and fold it 3 times while chanting:
“My promise is made, my promise is sealed.”

Place your folded paper in the pouch and close it. Snuff the candles and say:
“Let it be.”

Hang the pouch over a central doorway in your household, as a reminder and save the white candle nearby.

———

When your craving is taking over or you feel like your willpower is weakening, light the candle and meditate in front of it.
Recall the bright, warm feeling of the flame and let it set you alight with self-love once again.
Chant “My promise is made, my promise is sealed” until the craving subsides.

To banish unwanted persons

To Banish Unwanted Persons

To banish someone from your life, you will need their picture, a black candle and the *Separation Powder.

Take the photo and, in black ink, write your name over the entire photo, over and over, line after line.  As you do so, say over and over, “Leave me alone.”  This exerts your control over them.

Spread the Separation Powder over the image.

Light the candle and let the wax drip over the image, bonding the powder to the image.  As you do so, say:

I banish you (Name)!

I banish you from my life and from my thoughts!

Go away and leave me alone forever!

Let the wax cool and store in a lunch bag or other container to keep it safe.  This newly created talisman will protect you from them as long as it’s intact and in your possession.

*Separation Powder

Cloves

Black pepper

½ cup dirt

Crush all into powder.

A Spell To Break The Powers Of A Spell

If you believe that a spell has been cast against you, place a large black
candle in a cauldron (or a large black bowl). The candle must be tall enough to
extend a few inched above the cauldron's rim. Affix the candle to the bottom of
the cauldron with warmed beeswax or the drippings of another black candle so
that it will not tip over.

Fill the cauldron to the rim with fresh water, without wetting the candle's
wick. An inch or two of the candle should remain above the water. Deep
breathe, meditate, clear your mind, and light the candle. Visualize the
suspected spell's power as residing within the candle's flame. Sit in quiet
contemplation of the candle and visualize the power flowing and growing with
the candle's flame (yes the power against you). As the candle burns down, its
flame will eventually sputter and go out as it contacts the water. As soon as
the flame has been extinguished by the water, the spell will be dispersed.

Break your visualization of the spell's power; see it explode into dust,
becoming impotent.

Pour the water into a hole in the ground, a lake or stream. Bury the candle.
It is done.

A Natural Magick Blessing for the Heart of the Home

“Pick the room or rooms that you feel are the heart of your home and gather these simple and elemental supplies:

  • A small dish of salt to represent the earth and prosperity
  • A stick of incense (your choice of scent) and a holder, the scented smoke represents air and knowledge
  • A red candle and a coordinating candle holder for fire and courage
  • A small bowl of water for water and love
  • Matches or a lighter

Straighten and clean the room or rooms to be blessed. Then light the candle and the incense. Place the candle in the center of the room. Beginning in the east, and moving in a deosil (clockwise) motion, work your way slowly around the room. First sprinkle a bit of salt in each corner. Then carry the incense around, waving a little of the smoke to help it flow. Next sprinkle a bit of the water around the perimeter of the room. Then settle in front of the candle and visualize the blessings from each of the four elements.

There is a gift of prosperity from deep in the earth. Knowledge is sent along a fragrant breeze from the air. Courage is rewarded to you from the bright, dancing flames of fire, and love embraces you from the emotional element of water. Picture these elemental gifts in your mind and then visualize both you and the people or pets who live with you receiving an equal share of these offerings. When you are ready, center yourself and repeat this blessing:

Elements four I call, release now your power,
As I bless my home in this magickal hour.
No negativity can enter, no spirits shall roam,
As I consecrate and protect the heart of my home.

As you finish the charm, draw a circle in the air aboce the candle flame with your finger. Spiral it up faster and faster, higher and higher, until you fling the energy off and out into the room. Then close up the spell by saying,

This home is now blessed by my will and desire,
I close this spell by earth, air, water, and fire.

You may allow the candle and the incense to burn themselves out. Afterward make sure to tidy up all of your supplies. Does the house feel better? I bet if you pay attention, you’ll notice a subtle change in people’s reactions as they enter the heart of your home. Now that your home is on track and has a nice magickal sparkle, it will radiate out to the rest of the place.”

Skyesong’s Imbolg Ritual: Hestia’s Bottle of Protection

Hestia bless this copper

screw - come the spring’s first new moon,

dig it up and start anew.

~

Write the spell (above) on a slip of paper. Place the spell inside a vessel (I used a bottle) along with a copper-coloured nail (for protection), and a penny or coin (for prosperity). Cork or lid the vessel, and place outside on Imbolg (perhaps with Brigid’s Elixir) or a full moon, and leave it there until the moon sets but before the sun rises. Bury it or conceal it until the first new moon of Spring (and then bury it).
