Spell / Meditation for release from addiction.
A friend of mine needed some help and encouragement to quit smoking cigarettes, so I wrote her this spell.
It can be used for any addiction and bad habits that are damaging you.
———
You will need:
- a black candle
(protection, ending, banishment, binding, protection, a new start.) - a white candle
(cleansing, healing, peace, clarity, ecstasy, self-love, higher self) - piece of paper, torn in two
- writing utensils
- a small lock of your hair
- a flame-proof dish
- a small, white pouch with black string
- you can also add these things to adorn your altar:
acorns, cinnamon bark, rosemary sprigs, rose thorns, pine-needles, amethyst, crystal quartz, Apache’s tears, personal charms and trinkets, etc…
Arrange your altar in a way that pleases you and light the candles.
Write down all the negative things about your addiction/bad habit on your piece of paper.
Stare into the black candle, reflect on your abuse / habit and how it has affected your life negatively. Think of your wish to be free.
Close your eyes and imagine this ashy cloud of negativity along with it’s toxicity flowing along your veins and gather in your hands.
Pass it onto the paper and say tell yourself that its not welcome in your life anymore. Drip black candle-wax on the paper and fold it 3 times.
Then let it catch on fire and burn in the dish.
Write down the positive sides to quitting your bad habit on the other piece of paper.
Stare into the flame of the white candle and reflect upon what you just wrote down.
Observe the flame’s brightness and warmth, visualize it being absorbed by your body.
Imagine the feeling of wellness, freedom and joy while your body is aglow.
Promise yourself that you will love yourself from now on and that this flame within shall keep burning.
Place your lock of hair on the paper and “glue” them together with the white candle-wax and fold it 3 times while chanting:
“My promise is made, my promise is sealed.”
Place your folded paper in the pouch and close it. Snuff the candles and say:
“Let it be.”
Hang the pouch over a central doorway in your household, as a reminder and save the white candle nearby.
———
When your craving is taking over or you feel like your willpower is weakening, light the candle and meditate in front of it.
Recall the bright, warm feeling of the flame and let it set you alight with self-love once again.
Chant “My promise is made, my promise is sealed” until the craving subsides.
